Destination Canggu, The next Seminyak.

Step aside Seminyak, there is another cool kid on the block and as much as it hurts to highlight this idyllic Balinese beach side village (when I’d much prefer to keep it a secret), word is getting out about Bali’s new hot spot.

While Seminyak has been known for its cool kid hang outs for years now, with hip hotels, beach front bars and designer shopping, the crowds are slowly venturing a little further along the beach, to Canggu.

So, having recently returned I thought I’d share my tips on why Canggu is the next Seminyak, and if you are anyone, who’s anyone, Canggu is the place to be.

Discover Phuket, It’s no one ‘Beach’ wonder!

As you’d imagine, Phuket has plenty of amazing beaches and the destination itself was made famous by ‘The Beach’, but it’s easy to get a little stuck or swayed by the idea that Patong is the best beach destination for a Phuket holiday, and that Maya Bay (Part of Koh Phi Phi off the coast of Phuket, and the location of ‘The Beach’) is the most idyllic spot to visit.

Phuket Uncovered – Avoiding ping pong in Patong and uncovering Phuket’s more idyllic beach destinations.

Winter escape ideas to keep the soul warm and your feet moving!

Well, Winter is officially upon us here in Australia and I’m not sure about you but I’m already going a little nuts. Gone are the early morning laps at South Curl Curl, and the balmy sunset strolls along Freshie beach. I’ve had to swap my Havaianas for my Uggies and it’s only just begun! (eeeek!)

It probably doesn’t help that I haven’t left Australia in 4 months (but who’s counting?) and my feet are restless, so it has got me thinking … How do you stay sane when the weather cools down and you start going a little stir crazy at home? You take mini breaks and indulge in a staycation or two of course!

Oman, this is a destination to consider.(Bad pun intended)

Being a bit of a travel nerd and travel stylist, I am always reading the latest travel publications and blogs to get the hottest and latest info for my clients. I make sure I talk to my suppliers so that I can work out where the NEXT big travel destination is likely to be.

Instagram is another favourite tool for staying on top of #trending destinations, where I follow countless travel bloggers, photographers, hotel & resort brands etc…. I love to be inspired and see the world through their eyes, and I like to keep my finger on the pulse.

Towards the end of 2014 Iceland seemed to be just about everywhere (and as a destination it’s now shifted to the very TOP of my to do list), but recently I’ve seen a huge trend towards Oman with many of my own clients requesting info on the destination, and many of the people that I look to for inspiration heading there themselves.
