Well, Winter is officially upon us here in Australia and I’m not sure about you but I’m already going a little nuts. Gone are the early morning laps at South Curl Curl, and the balmy sunset strolls along Freshie beach. I’ve had to swap my Havaianas for my Uggies and it’s only just begun! (eeeek!)
It may surprise you, but I’m a definite summer soul (despite my love for the snow), so this cold, wet and windy weather can leave me feeling a little ‘blah’.
It probably doesn’t help that I haven’t left Australia in 4 months (but who’s counting?) and my feet are restless, so it has got me thinking … How do you stay sane when the weather cools down and you start going a little stir crazy at home? You take mini breaks and indulge in a staycation or two of course!
The Hunter Valley has long been a popular choice for a weekend getaway or a destination in it’s own right when visiting Australia, so I thought I’d highlight my recent visit and let you know some of the truly awesome things that you can get up to whilst you’re there.
If you’re looking for the perfect escape from the real world, be it a romantic getaway, a babymoon, a girls weekend or just somewhere beautiful to breathe for a while, then look no further than the stunning Atlantic Byron Bay.
From the minute you walk in, the scent of the lime and coconut PALM BEACH candles instantly transports you to a distant Caribbean island, and it’s easy to forget you’re in the heart of Byron Bay.
For most of us, when you’re asked to name one of the worlds most luxurious cities, destinations like Paris, New York, Milan or Tokyo would probably spring to mind in an instant.
While Sydney is definitely up there in terms of most ‘expensive’ cities in the world, it may not be one of the obvious choices for the ultimate luxury destination, however the opening of the Langham Hotel Sydney, may just change all of that.
